If you only remember to turn on the fan after you've stepped out of the shower, or if the kids can't be trusted to remember at all, this QTX110SL ultra-silent humidity-sensing fan/light from Broan offers a convenient solution. It also works well for busy families that need to leave the house before all the humidity has properly vented. Equipped with Broan's exclusive Sensaire technology, the fan detects when steam and humidity levels quickly increase at the ceiling, then it turns on automatically to help return the room to normal humidity levels, which in turn helps prevent mold and other cosmetic and structural problems associated with excess moisture. Even more, it turns off automatically when the job is done (auto shut-off time is adjustable from 5 to 60 minutes). In addition to its ventilating fan, the unit provides a bright 100-watt incandescent light for general overall room lighting, as well as a 4-watt nightlight for safe navigation in the dark (bulbs not included). Other details include 110 CFM, quiet operation at 0.9 Sones, hanger bars for easy universal installation, 6-inch ducting, and UL listed for use over bathtubs and showers (when connected to a GFCI protected branch circuit). Ideal for high-traffic bathrooms or a kid's bathroom, the fan/light's housing measures 10-1/2 inches long by 11-3/8 inches wide by 7-5/8 inches high, and its grille measures 13 inches long by 13-3/4 inches wide.
